Avatar is one of the first, and therefore one of the oldest, multiplayer dungeon games. It has been around in various incarnations since the late-1970's, running on various computer hardware ranging in size from the original CDC mainframe it was developed on to an emulator running on a small-end UNIX-based system today.
In it's heyday, avatar was one of the most popular programs on the system. Many were the time that you had to wait in a queue just to be able to play the game.
This site serves as an unofficial information and reference site for the game. This site is not sanctioned by the authors of avatar, hell, I would be surprised to learn that they even were aware of this site. The term 'avatar' is used without permission of the game authors.
